Constitutional Day of India – 26 November
Our college observed Constitution Day (India) on 26th November with great respect and awareness. This day is celebrated to remember the adoption of the Constitution of India, which is the supreme law of our country.
Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, commemorates the historic moment when the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949. It later came into effect on 26 January 1950, which is celebrated as Republic Day. The Constitution provides the framework for governance and ensures the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
During the celebration in our college, students and teachers gathered to reflect on the importance of constitutional values. A special programme was organized where the Preamble to the Constitution of India was read aloud. The Preamble begins with the words “We, the people of India” and highlights the fundamental ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that guide the nation.
The programme also included a brief discussion about the makers of the Constitution, especially the contributions of B. R. Ambedkar, who played a major role in drafting the Constitution. Students were encouraged to understand their fundamental rights and duties as responsible citizens.
The celebration helped us realize the importance of respecting the Constitution and its values. As future teachers, it reminded us that we have a responsibility to create awareness among students about democracy, equality, and justice in society. Observing Constitutional Day was therefore not only informative but also inspiring for all of us.
